Fresh Prints Press Tips

These are starting settings for our Hot Peel transfers. Heat presses and garments vary, so test unfamiliar fabric and follow the garment care label.

Cotton + 50/50320–325°FStart at the lower end when testing a new garment.
Poly + synthetics280–300°FStart low to reduce scorch marks and dye migration.
Press time10–15 SECUse one complete press without lifting early.
PressureMED–FIRMEven pressure matters more than forcing maximum pressure.
Peel methodHOT PEELPeel immediately in one smooth, continuous motion.

Finish strong: after peeling, cover the design with parchment or the approved cover sheet and post-press for 5 seconds.

Four-step application

Press it right the first time.

The repeatable workflow for clean edges, strong adhesion, and faster production.

Prep the garment

Move seams, collars, pockets, buttons, and zippers off the platen. Pre-press for 3–5 seconds to flatten the fabric and remove moisture.

Position the transfer

Place the printed adhesive side against the fabric. The artwork should read correctly through the clear carrier. Keep every part of the design on a flat pressing surface.

Press evenly

Apply the correct temperature, 10–15 seconds, and medium-to-firm pressure. Do not open the press early, slide the garment, or let a seam steal pressure from the design.

Peel hot + finish

Lift one corner and remove the carrier immediately in one confident motion. If any area lifts, stop, lay the carrier back down, and repress before continuing.

Do this

Build a repeatable press routine.

  • Test unfamiliar garments and presses.
  • Verify the platen is actually at temperature.
  • Keep the print area flat and obstruction-free.
  • Peel immediately in one smooth motion.
  • Complete the covered 5-second post-press.

Avoid this

Do not guess through a failure.

  • Do not mix instructions from another transfer brand.
  • Do not press over collars, seams, or zippers.
  • Do not rip the film away if the image begins lifting.
  • Do not press a damp or wrinkled garment—pre-press it first.
  • Do not wash, stretch, or heavily handle the garment for 24 hours.

After pressing

Make the print last.

  1. 24 HRWait before the first wash.
  2. INSIDE OUTWash cold on a gentle cycle.
  3. LOW HEATAir dry when possible or tumble dry low.
  4. NO DIRECT IRONKeep high heat off the transfer face.
